About the Role:

Adtran is seeking a motivated R&D Software Engineer to join its expanding team in Bangalore. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or individuals with up to 2 years of experience looking to build a career in a fast-paced and learning-rich environment.

The Software Engineer will work on developing, testing, and maintaining applications for Virtual Edge Cloud platforms, primarily using C/C++ and Python on Linux systems. This role offers exposure to both backend and frontend technologies, providing an excellent platform for comprehensive technical growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain applications for Virtual Edge Cloud platforms using C/C++ and Python on Linux.
• Collaborate with team members to develop new features and address engineering escalations.
• Participate in all phases of product development, including design, implementation, debugging, testing, and early customer support.
• Work with peer teams like QA, Systemic Test Engineering, and other engineering groups to deliver solutions and integrate feedback.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and development trends.

Key Technical Skills:

C/C++, Python, Unix/Linux System Programming, Multithreaded Programming, Data Structures, Algorithms, RESTful APIs, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Cloud Platforms (Openstack, AWS, Azure), CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Containers, Version Control (Git, SVN)

Requirements:

• B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA in Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or related domain.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience, including internships or projects.
• Familiarity with system software development.
• Solid programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux system programming and multithreaded programming.
• Understanding of OS internals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for building quality software and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with RESTful APIs and integration practices.
• Familiarity with frontend and backend technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
• Exposure to cloud computing platforms such as Openstack, AWS, and Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Containers, or cloud environments.
• Previous project experience through college projects, hackathons, or internships.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git or SVN.
